Tank Hollow Trail

Tank Hollow Trail

The Tank Hollow Trail is a short but rewarding trail that offers one of the best views of the Lehigh River. The hike described here is 3.4 miles out and back and primarily goes through SGL 141.

To access the hike, park at the parking lot just off of Behrens Road. The trail begins at the gate. (Note that the gate is sometimes open, in which case it is possible to drive through and park a bit farther in for a shorter hike.) The first part of the hike is along an unpaved road, and the first mile or so is a gentle ascent. The road then begins to descend somewhat sharply, after which you will hit the intersection with the acutal Tank Hollow Trail. Turn right on to the trail, and a half mile hike through forest will lead to a rocky outcrop that offers a spectacular view of a horshoe bend in the Lehigh River!
